The proposed bills to anchor the land reform laws are out and they already look very fishy. Uhuru tried to sneak this in just before the deadline for law amendments and actually asked Muturi and his gang in parliament to pass the bill in two days. Even Muturi was shocked. He raised the legal requirement for public consultation in such laws.
Now Ruto is already catching some heat on the proposed amendments specifically the attempt to have the central government be responsible for community land holdings which are supposed to be transferred to the counties.
I am going to take a look at this because this is a big debate. One would hope that CORD leadership would comb the land bills with a toothpick and take bold stands while involving county governments. CORD so far has done well on the sugar scam that Uhuru hoped to bring through the backdoor. It turned into a major nightmare for Uhuru.
